Individual Counseling

An individual counseling session is when a client meets with a therapist in a one-on-one setting.  These personal sessions are the most effective way to address the problems a client may be experiencing.  The therapist and client have the most flexibility in developing a treatment plan that is tailored to the client's immediate needs and preferences.  The frequency and duration of therapy depends on the severity of the problems and the client's progress during treatment.

We provide individual counseling for Adults, Adolescents, and Children.  Our office practices a culturally-sensitive approach to therapy.  Sessions are offered in English, Spanish, or Farsi

Individual counseling sessions can be conducted in-person at our office, or remotely through telephone or video conference.

We specialize in treating the following symptoms and problems:

     ●    Depression

Insurance

Session fees, co-payments and deductibles for mental health services are set by the insurance companies and varied depending on the individual's plan.  Mental health services are often considered a specialty that require a referral and pre-authorization.  It is the client's responsibility to know the coverage of his or her plan and to request any necessary authorizations prior to scheduling treatment.

We work with the following health insurance providers:

  • Carelon Behavioral Health

  • LA Care - Carelon

If you have a PPO plan with another health insurance company, we will gladly provide you a monthly statement that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

How to Get Started

1.

Give us a call to set an appointment to come to our office and complete the enrollment paperwork.  If you are planning to attend in-office sessions, we will try to schedule the intake appointment with a therapist immediately after we are done with the paperwork.  For telehealth sessions, we will set the appointment for a later time.

2.

Come in to our office to your scheduled appointment to complete the enrollment paperwork.  This can take up to 30 minutes.

You will need to bring:

  • Picture ID.

  • Health Insurance Card, if you are using it.

  • Any Court / DCFS orders or recommendation for counseling, if it applies to your case.

  • The fee for the intake session, if you have scheduled your first session for the same day or if you will be scheduling a telehealth session (phone or video conference).

After the paperwork is completed, you will be ready to see a therapist.

3.

Begin your first session.  During the intake session, the therapist will make an assessment and discuss your goals and expectations of therapy with you.  Your therapist will use this information to develop a treatment plan that will be shared with you on the following session.
